Post publication of this article for Festival City ADL, Billie Eilish, who I mention briefly in the article, has continued to impress! Following her criticisms of artists printing multiple 'vinyl variants' of the same record, her new record was produced with sustainability front and centre (the sustainability page on her site contains loads of details about this) and her upcoming tour - again - also has strong sustainability credentials. I love how Billie Eilish talks about sustainable design as "an imperfect journey of efforts" - it so is and we shouldn't pretend that we have all the answers now. I also really love that my kids (and their friends) have noticed what Billie is talking about and that means they are now also talking about it (and her). Such a great illustration of how festivals - and all of the amazing artists who perform at the festivals - can encourage and promote sustainability in a uniquely creative way and to a wide range of audiences. Yay her (and yay festivals in general).
